Open letter on Introspection

Hey guys!

It has been a while since I blogged,  being lazy I've decided to simply drop in a mail. I am sure even many 'strategic' recipients of this mail wouldn't even read/notice this mail until a significant period ranging from a week to forever. But for those of you who do (not lenovo), here goes nothing.

I want you fellows to take a moment out of your urgent and important schedule to think if your life is on the track you thought it should be. Ask yourself if what you are doing today is what you'd really hoped to do? Most importantly, do you still believe that slogging for extra hours in office for some elusive bonus/raise shall bring you peace?

Most of us are in the process of settling down without realising how unsettled we actually might be. Tell me honestly, how many of you wanted to help in the uttarakhand tragedy but did nothing about it? when people say you should give back to the society, it didn't mean that the soicety was your boss! (because most of you wish to give it back to him/her someday!)

Almost all of us get into a comfort zone when we are working, we get used to harrassment, late hours, eventually we even get used to a nagging wife, balding head, weaker dicks, longer pees, falling economy, gangrapes, fucking assholes in power and what not... but we grow up! (matured), we stop reacting!

All I wish to say is that this is a critical point in your career where you are 2 years plus in your job, have had a decent earning, you have some idea of how to get along in this shithole of a world & decisions that you'll take in the next two years will define the rest of your life. so, please do something about yourself while you have the chance!

If you are happy with your life, try and spill the happiness to some more around you in whatever small way you can, if you aren't then shake yourself out of despair and move on to the things you love because you can!

If there's one thing that preparing for civils has taught me, it is this - "good things in life can wait forever to happen or you can actually go ahead and do them". Hope it helps you with a moment of different than ususal feeling..

I'll end this mail with a wish - hope the number 69 becomes a reality for all of you in the next year :)

Love,
Snaky

Beautiful memories…

There are 10 things that are running through my head right now & it feels so surreal to get through those glorious months of preparation; really all of it feels so ‘surreal’!

As I look back at the time that I’ve spent in one of the most critical phases of my life, I can’t stop admiring the superest awesomest moments we shared together and I simply wish to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for it. “Thank you sooooooooooo much!”, “it could not have been possible without your support”. On that note, here goes a memoir of the last seven months…

Before I begin, please do not read this blog like a upsc question paper - when I tend to get sarcastic, I’m simply being sarcastic!. However…  (Now you may give the alternate view!).  Also, am not trying to be “haughty” here, you need to figure out what you wish to infer from this blog.

It is not easy to leave your job for preparation of an examination you have no clue about. But, in our case it was a little different “we left our jobs thinking we had a fair measure of the examination” & as it turns out in hindsight (shekhoo was damn right about the hindsight!), what we are left with is some beautiful memories!
It all started in march (ides of march) and it ended in October. Just like that! Frankly; nothing eventful happened during these seven months except –
  • -          We studied (a little)
  • -          We memorized
  • -          saw a movie or two
  • -          Played stick cricket
  • -          we memorized again
  • -          Listened to a lot of music
  • -          Memorized again
  • -          Wrote a little bit (written practice is important: hindsight opinion)
  • -          Went to few classes (lord forgive me for referring to those horrors as classes)
  • -          Joined some test series/ PAaP (pavan kumar to karna hi hai.. saala ma@@&^#)
  • -          Ordered food, discussed love lives of each other (shekhoo ab to bhavna ko samjho!)
  • -          Well, memorized again
  • -          Slept frequently (except shekhoo)

I can’t remember to have memorized ever in my life to such an extent, don’t bother about the meaning; just gulp it in & always remember to have an intro, the ‘body’ with the conclusion for everything. The fact that majority of the stuff we learnt was mentally unstimulating (felt like discovering a new word for the preparation!) really helped us a lot.

Every day we would face many life changing decisions like who’ll go to buy vegetables, milk, grocery etc., who is bunking the lecture today, what is to be made in breakfast/lunch/dinner and so on. These decisions have been very instrumental in defining our future for they form the core of our content of ‘beautiful memories’!

I can never forgive fatou bensouda, Bradley wiggins, parthsarthy shome and many others for their unscrupulous deeds. I mean why on earth would African Union want to appoint a female with a name no one can spell correctly? or for that matter what is my fault if Saudi Arabia sent two females in Olympics for the first time? After all, it was their moments, they had to fight, prove! Nothing else mattered. Only if they’d won, we could have said ‘oh nice… congrats!’

If this was not all, there was the evergreen sulphate, who often marked us three star and highlighted the teacher student negative relations of our lives. I would take this opportunity to apologize to all the girl fans of shekhawat sahab which couldn’t woo him due to the brahma taap of prabhu. Let me also take the honor of mentioning the girl in sky blue and the intellectual look girl for they have been instrumental in generating various discussions among the three of us throughout the classes. The classes also saw F1 race mobile game crossing the record score of 1000 points in one sitting! ‘baat samajh pa rahe ho’???

I don’t want to write much (in hindsight, it’s already too much!) here because it is just too long and too beautiful a memory to be described in words. The frustration, the pain, the smiles, the toil, the feeling of blankness in the exam hall, the ‘obvious frauds’ in love affairs, the three time tea, C2’s iPhone and C2 himself(amuman, mar kutte!), manish’s nagraj and delicious cooking, ramlal and shyamlal (street dogs), haasil, prashant, GOW, sid, TDKR, Baron, Prasad and prasad, prabhu and prabhu, my writings on the wall, mineral water handwash, saiguru dhaba, exercise waali ladki, landlord’s beti, plato and the platypus, recent advancements in mechanical engineering, p^3’s legendary mock interview, tapir mating…… it can just go on and on.

The point in writing such a long story here is, life can be fun even when you least expect it to be. I know this time that the three of us spent together would count as beautiful memories or sheer waste depending on certain future events but it has got lessons for us both ways. If the time was bad, you’d realize that it can’t get worse than this, so you’d develop respect for work. If the time was good; what else could you ask for? For me, the time spent with these prodigies was tooooooooo good, yo mast!, it helped in my ‘mast waala development’ adding up to be called as beautiful memories!

As a matter of fact, I can imagine prabhu reading this blog, smiling a bit, heartily disagreeing with me on many things that I’ve written here or worse he may not even read it in full.  But, his legendary ‘tum to chup hi raho’ ‘aukaat me raho’ ‘bhak sala’ are something yoou can't help but miss!  Accompanied by the squeaky laugh of shekhoo with the eternal ‘facepalm’! … well what more can I say to them? : “I can take it in English also”! J
Finally, a big thank you guys! I know we have a long road ahead and I’m glad to have you guys around! you guys helped me in getting a topic to write on my blog after all! cheers!!

Ps- “Rajkaran metro mein baith ke jaayega, girlfriend ko commonwealth dikhayega!”  “Main to baap hoon, mera kya hai, teri maa ka… “  “foda faadi boss…” (personal request to prabhu – please start watching porn now!!! and shekhoo kindly try to 'hold' your ferver for korean 'cinema')

For the love of MUSIC!

Let me start with a wish:

I have always dreamt of playing the guitar and singing along with it; and if I’m able to do it, I would simply play the guitar for hours while singing along whatever comes to my head, be it a rhyme or a lyric, just let the music within me come out and make sense on its own!

I want to set myself free, wish to have that liberating feeling of having so much inside you and finally letting it out. Let my emotions take the shape of the music that has been there, trapped, looking for a way out.

For I know for sure, that day would be the happiest moment of my life, I might even cry for a while but I would have smiled from my heart.

It is just so amazing to see how music heals your wounds, shares your jokes, talks to you when you are alone.  For every highway to hell, there is a strairway to heaven! We all just love our music! Don’t we?

Some people say that there’s a song for every situation of your life, they call it the ‘songstones of life’. But, I feel that music is much more than that. Music speaks to you, teaching you things you thought never existed. When you listen to a slash on his guitar or a Clapton’s classical gas, it’s a different world talking to you.

So, I want you to thank you music! You have been there for me without fail, you’ve depressed me, inspired me, made me smile, fall in love, fall out of love, frustrated me (courtesy: Justin Bieber) & this list would just go on & on so i'd stop.
THANK YOU!

why don’t you all just go out there and listen to your favorite song and celebrate this moment! For after all, what is it to be staying alive without music!

PS - i have put the links to videos of songs along the words, you might just wanna listen to a few!

Killing an Emotion

It’s not as easy as you think
And you may not like it
Not even one bit!
But you have to
Coz you can’t afford to have it!

You think it’s gone
And then it reappears
And then you kill it again
But it won’t die

It eats you from inside
Every moment of the day!
You want to fight it
But you feel running away is easier
Honestly, it’s not gonna help you either ways

What you're gonna do brother?
You aren’t strong enough to live
& not weak enough to die

 I don’t have your answer
So I live to see another day in futility!
sincerely, faithfully, passionately
Trying to kill an emotion

End of the world beckons 2012

Hi there! You might as well listen to this  SONG   while you read this post...  kinda sums up my state of mind.. :)

At First, I thought this was ridiculous but then even Kapil Sibal is a cabinet minister in this country {not to forget the hall of famers - evergreen Lalu (not our THOM yaar), softy (mulayam), Behen.., even sLuDGy is a MNC professional today}. So, why deny the possibilities. Who knows the world might come to an end!

There can be many reasons for the world to end.
For instance, let us say corruption is eradicated from India.
Sarakari babu will die of exposure to work! Indian politician will die of starvation & FII, FDI would be completely swiped off its feet.
Not to mention the common man, who shall die of instant shock! However, I am yet to find a common man in this country.

Let me show you an experiment –
Ball Hypothesis – slap any random person on the street*        (*caution - do it only if you have the BALLS)
Result/insults – teri maa***, teri beh***, tu jaanta nahi main kaun hoon… and so on!
Need I say more…  (I call this as ‘being Indian’ phenomenon ala our sallu ji’s being human endorsement)

On a more serious note, end of the world has caught my attention in a different sense. It’s simple to comprehend; define your world and then define the end for you.  Your world can be
  •       Girlfriend
  •       Bachelor life/ student life
  •       Friends
  •       Existing job
  •       City you live in

And frankly, it does get over at some point for you. Example - my mailbox is full with marriage announcements in 2012, Boom! There goes half a million worlds crashing!

Time changes & leaves a carcass of memory behind; it may rot for the few unfortunate ones and some might dance around it. Probably that’s what the wise men from the past wanted to tell us... That it does get over at some point of time.

It’s only a matter of time before ‘I miss the good old days’ status begins to pop up on that popular social networking site (censorship is also tight these days!)

The pursuit of the impossible dream is always on, only the bloody dream changes…

Probably the world is coming to an end in 2012! Think about it..

Take care…

p.s. – live your life like there’s no tomorrow coz some facts of life will never change!  For instance - life sucks, boss sucks but your wife doesn’t..!

Finally after ages a snaky HISSSSSSSSSS.....

The one sided lover…

He is a loser, he is anonymous, he is abused by junta by ways like FOSLA; hindi me usko C***iya bolte hain.

Yes I’m talking about you! The one sided lover is inside each one of us. Some take the courage to admit it; others prefer silence.

I’m not going to take his case today because his life is already a joke. Let us get on the other side for a change.

Imagine that you love someone, terribly. You love someone so much that if there was any ‘hope’ in life, it was/is her. Now imagine that you will NEVER be able to be with that person. I am not even trying to bring comparisons here because the one sided lover always lost on comparisons to someone else.

The mind will think about only one thing constantly, only one thing! Every single day!

It is like fighting a battle which you’ve already lost.

The best friend will come up and say “get over it”, and you will ask yourself “is it really worth it”. Well if only life was so easy & you had all the answers..!

I don’t even want to write about it anymore… leave him alone! Let him be…

Because that’s how life is, always full of “IF”s and butts.. not all stories have a happy ending . Your happiness will always be at the cost of someone’s suffering & sacrifice! Think about it…
After all, life is a zero sum game.

Take care!
PS - Happy Independence Day!

What the flock is this civil society?

Well I thought why put abuses in a title…  Arre bhai this is a civil society!

I’d be honest with all of you, I’d been dying to lay my hands on this topic for quite a while now, my whole holidays were spoilt in watching the media rant about them.

Anna uncle went on a fast and when something was going to happen, left the show to be run by ‘mainukiys’ (this is what bhajji said to symonds, poor fellow heard monkey…Punjabi is fun btw..)

I googled up “civil society” and by the time I could type civi on the pad, a suggestion for the game civiballs appeared and my pursuit ended then and there. But, do you know what a ‘civil society’ means? A great friend replied as ‘I have no clue’, another one was more sober in saying ‘aa c**os le mera’ but the query remained unanswered. Even mittal was silent on this issue (speaks volumes about the seriousness of the matter)

And I am still thinking… finally came up with few hints, you might have to help me out here as well, here goes –
  • -       Civil society is one which watches ‘wo waali’ movies on cable after 12 midnight (chummi called them dharmik movies, the lost bua…?)
  • -       Civil society is culturally elite, they appreciate dhobi ghat without watching it even once (they have seen munni and sheela on infinite loops though)
  • -       Civil society has evaded the blessed ‘thulla’ on traffic signals by either a phone call to ‘someone special’ or recalling the father of the nation(Gandhiji is on every note)
  • -       Civil society has stolen electricity, evaded taxes and broken queues quite a lot of times
  • -       Civil society cell phones never switch off in satyanarain kathas or ICUs
  • -       Civil society ne “yaha peshaab karna mana hai” pe muta hai
  • -       Civil society letches at neighbour’s wife but teaches ghar ki beti to ‘behave’
  • -       Civil society loves spitting on roads and apparently their father owns it (wonder what did the contractor take to reproduce so many citizens..)
  • -       Civil society never abuses in public, you can try scratching their car for starters
  • -       Civil society during elections didn’t vote in the morning because it was too early, afternoon was simply too hot and evening had to be spent at a mall, so much work yaar
  • -       Civil society loves talking in talk shows, they however don’t believe in doing anything concrete because ‘wo to sarkar karegi’
  • -       Civil society believes the world will end in 2012
  • -       Civil society also loves to worship floating stones, talking goats(sorry kd, couldn’t find one for you) and random babas (Usmani Intl. excluded)
  • -       Civil society condemns the DPS MMS scandal after watching it on the cell phone!
  • -       Civil society “sab jaanti hai”… so they never thought things can change!

What else can I say here.. even I’m not a saint, but then I do accept my mistakes and have been trying to ‘execute’ some things for positive results (anu can vouch for it, he calls me the executionist… he thinks.. I execute…)

And I do have questions to all you guys out there -
When will you grow up??
When will you have the balls to do something about it??
When will you go out there and vote to get the right guy in the assembly??

I refuse to give answers to you… apne andar dekho aur poocho kya kar sakte ho… jawaab mil jaayega.

Do think once before you spit on the road next time, you’d be saving a poor sweeper some sturdy hours of cleaning in 43 degrees of summer heat…

Till then – “chain se sona hai to jag jao”…

PS – ATB to all new job joiners… J
