There are 10 things that are running through my head right now & it feels so surreal to get through those glorious months of preparation; really all of it feels so ‘surreal’!
As I look back at the time that
I’ve spent in one of the most critical phases of my life, I can’t stop admiring
the superest awesomest moments we shared together and I simply wish to thank
you guys from the bottom of my heart for it. “Thank you sooooooooooo much!”, “it
could not have been possible without your support”. On that note, here goes a
memoir of the last seven months…
Before I begin, please do not
read this blog like a upsc question paper - when I tend to get sarcastic, I’m
simply being sarcastic!. However… (Now
you may give the alternate view!). Also,
am not trying to be “haughty” here, you need to figure out what you wish to
infer from this blog.
It is not easy to leave your job
for preparation of an examination you have no clue about. But, in our case it was
a little different “we left our jobs thinking we had a fair measure of
the examination” & as it turns out in hindsight (shekhoo was damn right
about the hindsight!), what we are left with is some beautiful memories!
It all started in march (ides of
march) and it ended in October. Just like that! Frankly; nothing eventful
happened during these seven months except –
- - We studied (a little)
- - We memorized
- - saw a movie or two
- - Played stick cricket
- - we memorized again
- - Listened to a lot of music
- - Memorized again
- - Wrote a little bit (written practice is important: hindsight opinion)
- - Went to few classes (lord forgive me for referring to those horrors as classes)
- - Joined some test series/ PAaP (pavan kumar to karna hi hai.. saala ma@@&^#)
- - Ordered food, discussed love lives of each other (shekhoo ab to bhavna ko samjho!)
- - Well, memorized again
- - Slept frequently (except shekhoo)
I can’t remember to have
memorized ever in my life to such an extent, don’t bother about the meaning;
just gulp it in & always remember to have an intro, the ‘body’ with the
conclusion for everything. The fact that majority of the stuff we learnt was mentally
unstimulating (felt like discovering a new word for the preparation!) really
helped us a lot.
Every day we would face many life
changing decisions like who’ll go to buy vegetables, milk, grocery etc., who is
bunking the lecture today, what is to be made in breakfast/lunch/dinner and so
on. These decisions have been very instrumental in defining our future for they
form the core of our content of ‘beautiful memories’!
I can never forgive fatou
bensouda, Bradley wiggins, parthsarthy shome and many others for their
unscrupulous deeds. I mean why on earth would African Union want to appoint a
female with a name no one can spell correctly? or for that matter what is my
fault if Saudi Arabia sent two females in Olympics for the first time? After
all, it was their moments, they had to fight, prove! Nothing else mattered.
Only if they’d won, we could have said ‘oh nice… congrats!’
If this was not all, there was
the evergreen sulphate, who often marked us three star and highlighted the
teacher student negative relations of our lives. I would take this opportunity
to apologize to all the girl fans of shekhawat sahab which couldn’t woo him due
to the brahma taap of prabhu. Let me also take the honor of mentioning the girl
in sky blue and the intellectual look girl for they have been instrumental in
generating various discussions among the three of us throughout the classes.
The classes also saw F1 race mobile game crossing the record score of 1000
points in one sitting! ‘baat samajh pa rahe ho’???
I don’t want to write much
(in hindsight, it’s already too much!) here because it is just too long and too
beautiful a memory to be described in words. The frustration, the pain, the
smiles, the toil, the feeling of blankness in the exam hall, the ‘obvious
frauds’ in love affairs, the three time tea, C2’s iPhone and C2 himself(amuman, mar kutte!),
manish’s nagraj and delicious cooking, ramlal and shyamlal (street dogs), haasil, prashant, GOW,
sid, TDKR, Baron, Prasad and prasad, prabhu and prabhu, my writings on the
wall, mineral water handwash, saiguru dhaba, exercise waali ladki, landlord’s
beti, plato and the platypus, recent advancements in mechanical engineering,
p^3’s legendary mock interview, tapir mating…… it can just go on
and on.
The point in writing such a long
story here is, life can be fun even when you least expect it to be. I know this
time that the three of us spent together would count as beautiful memories or
sheer waste depending on certain future events but it has got lessons for us both
ways. If the time was bad, you’d realize that it can’t get worse than this, so
you’d develop respect for work. If the time was good; what else could you ask
for? For me, the time spent with these prodigies was tooooooooo good, yo mast!,
it helped in my ‘mast waala development’ adding up to be called as beautiful
memories!
As a matter of fact, I can imagine
prabhu reading this blog, smiling a bit, heartily disagreeing with me on many
things that I’ve written here or worse he may not even read it in full. But, his legendary ‘tum to chup hi raho’
‘aukaat me raho’ ‘bhak sala’ are something yoou can't help but miss! Accompanied by the squeaky laugh of shekhoo
with the eternal ‘facepalm’! … well what more can I say to them? : “I can take
it in English also”! J
Finally, a big thank you guys! I know
we have a long road ahead and I’m glad to have you guys around! you guys helped me in getting a topic to write on my blog after all! cheers!!
Ps- “Rajkaran metro mein baith ke
jaayega, girlfriend ko commonwealth dikhayega!” “Main to baap hoon, mera kya hai, teri maa ka…
“ “foda faadi boss…” (personal request
to prabhu – please start watching porn now!!! and shekhoo kindly try to 'hold' your ferver for korean 'cinema')
